Access to Clean, Safe Water in
Ttega Village
In Ttega village, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, Uganda, a new community well has transformed daily life. For over a year now, residents have had free access to clean, safe water — a change that has brought relief and renewed hope to hundreds of households, schools, and prayer centers.
Mayanja, a father of eight in his fifties, has sold water for nearly two decades. Before the well was built, the water he collected was often contaminated with refuse, and heavy rains made it impossible to gather at all. His livelihood suffered, and so did the community's health. Today, he collects and sells 50 to 60 jerrycans of clean water each day, earning around 30,000 Ugandan Shillings (about 8 USD) on a good day — enough to support his family with newfound stability.

The well now serves more than 500 households, three schools with over 300 children, and several prayer centers. Its two outlets keep water flowing even during heavy rains, easing the conflicts that once arose over access and improving health and livelihoods across the community.
This well is more than a source of water — it is a source of hope, dignity, and opportunity. The people of Ttega village are deeply grateful to the donors whose generosity made it possible.
Thank you for changing lives.
